Module 2.7
By: The Eye

The newest update slipped in, but if you're not in a dominion you might not have noticed. The Heathen Invasion has begun and these guys mean business regardless of your level or path. So far there have been no reports of any artifacts discovered among these foreign invaders, but rumors suggest that they may be hiding a new area of the game. What might we find on this "Mysterious Island"? So far, we only know that it's "coming soon". Another more accessible feature of Mod 2.7 manifests in the Temple of Atum. The old bull god seems to have picked up at least two new quests but only one of them is visible on the initial list. In potentially unrelated news, disciples have been seen reaching the new height of level 71. Archinta (eidolon) was reportedly the first to achieve this new level which does not appear to grant a new title. If level 71 is the new ceiling or if any new abilities are found there remains a mystery.

Editors Note: If you'd like to report a discovery, please send details to AnkhetGazette@gmail.com! Be sure to include your Disciple name if you wish to be credited.

Ankhet High Noon
By: The Eye

The dusty streets were cleared and the women and children were huddled indoors. At 13:39 on Payni 21st, resident ruffian Euplicitous Arophram (Light) accepted a challenge from Aer Capello (Shadows). The much publicized event had drawn considerable speculation and seemed destined to be a battle of epic proportions. Such was not the case. Proud Euplicitous went down like a house of cards after a mere four rounds of pummeling at the hands of his Hathor opponent. You heard it right, folks. A mere disciple of Hathor crushed the Ankhet of Thoth in a duel. This landslide victory flies in the face of the conventional wisdom that Hathor can't fight. Talk about a wake up call, Aer racked up an impressive 15 damage in a single whack. Both fighters seemed to be in good spirits and in a classy move, Aer Capello even resurrected his fallen foe.

Ask Miss Mummy
Dear Miss Mummy,
Why can't I duel anyone I want to?
Signed,
Tiny Tyrant

Well, Tiny, disciples in Ankhet have what I like to call a "duel range" that goes five levels below and ten above their current level. This helps ensure that duels are at least reasonably fair to both combatants. Now there are options. The Path of Sekhmet and Menthu (if you can find it) won't stop you from dying heroically at the hands of much more powerful adversaries. Also, while I can't confirm it, I have heard that some Geenies or Djinns might affect the range too.

Tip of the Week
Followers of Hathor may find it cheaper to Salve in the lower levels of the Gauntlet when they need to recoup lost Vitality. Just make sure to pick a level where you won't kill the monster in a single strike.

Top of the Game
Here is the list of Ankhets as of 21 Payni, 2755
Ahmose: Yage (35 - eidolon)
Amin-Ra: Shenti (51 - Shadows)
Ammut: HEdwards (41 - eidolon)
Anubis: JenniferEmily (40 - Light)
Bast: Toadie (36 - eidolon)
Hathor: Archinta (71 - eidolon)
Menthu: None
Sekhmet: Baltar (70 - Shadows)
Thoth: Euplicitous Arophram (60 - Light)
Dominion: Shadows (34,700,000)

Recent conversions have really changed the landscape among the Ankhets. Most notably, Luthien Tinuviel and giorgioh's jump to Sekhmet took the Iron Maiden dominion off the list. Expectations are high for Luthien after her controversial and meteoric eight-day rise from signup to achieving the title Ankhet of Hathor. Debates flare, but one thing is clear. You can't keep that girl down.

Question of the Week
Does Ankhet really need the sparsely populated paths like Bast, Anubis, and Menthu? Submit your answers to AnkhetGazette@gmail.com.
