Jefe's Fall
By: The Mouth

In response to the attack orchestrated by Jefe, The Riven did… nothing. For an undisclosed reason, they refused to play ball turning a potentially exciting war between two able adversaries into a rout. Perhaps bored with the lack of opposition, Jefe expanded his campaign and used Txatxu to undo both Arthur (Shadows) and Baltar (Shadows). There was little grumbling about the undoing of The Riven. The undoing of Arthur seemed almost expected. But a line was drawn over Baltar, who had just transferred to the path of Selket and so lost one of its very expensive prerequisite items.

At 20:59 on 26 Hathyr, Malarthi (eidolon) attempted to unleash hell, but failed. Five times Malarthi attacked, and all five times Jefe’s companion Txaran intervened. Then an ally of Jefe, Leonidas (now Optimus Prime, Selket), unsummoned Txaran leaving Jefe vulnerable. Malarthi and Alucard then set about incapacitating Jefe before Maa-kheru (Selket) suddenly ended the evening by unleashing Txatxu on Jefe.

Some 24 hours later Jefe shed the protection of his status as an Initiate and has spent most of the time since then in some combination of being dead, sundered, and exhausted. To date the imprisoners have yet to open a dialogue with their terms or demands and Jefe seems to be taking a leaf from The Riven’s book, so this could last for a very long time.

A minor kafuffle over Reign’s (Nekhen) mass-tutoring of Fluffy (Nekhen) resulted in a peaceful resolution and a renewed agreement that the best way of helping a brand new player is not to hand them 200,000+ favour.

This week also saw the sudden and unannounced ennuis of Mr Brightside, Flor Venenosa (N: Imperial Conquest), Scrotum, and Danielle. One of the first three apparently came back after seeing the new Transformers movie and as Bumblebee/Ratchet/Ironside briefly attempted to rescue Jefe. The effort failed and Ironside later ennui’d also.

Ask Miss Mummy
Dear Miss Mummy,
Txatxu seems to be getting around a lot. I’ve never met him though. Who is he? What does he do?
Signed,
Larry Lucky

Well, Lucky, Txatxu was once the most powerful of Dao before he fell prey to the charms of Selket. Now he is available for Selket’s most devoted followers to unleash on others (with the dire warning that he may turn on its user). If you find yourself visited by Txatxu, you will lose your Exalted or Forsaken status, your Attunement, and will be a dead level 1 Initiate with -500 anima. Count yourself lucky you didn’t have to learn this firsthand!

Tip of the Week
Even though resurrecting, tutoring, and bequeathing are usually nice things to do, doing it without doing some basic research first can land you in hot water. If somebody is dead or has negative anima because they are being punished then you may be getting yourself involved in something hostile and painting a target on your back. If somebody is new then mass-tutoring them can get other disciples upset at you because you aren’t giving the player the chance to learn and attain power at a more responsible rate.

The Underworld: Why I hit Jefe: Post #1

"I assisted in the downfall of Jefe, not because I feel any pity for Riven... My actions were because of the undoing that Maa-kheru mentioned. I felt this was completely unreasonable and needed to be addressed before further issues arose." - Alucard
