Curious Circumstances!
By: The Eye

Like a house of cards, the relative calm in the realm came crashing down. With a new disciple joining Nekhen and rocketing to Scion status on their first sign in, accusations and recriminations against Reign began to add up. His methods, borrowed liberally from Giorgioh, began to cause alarm as terms like “thrall building” and “spoon feeding” were bandied about. All of this came on the heels of continued and heated debate over Reign’s mass tutoring of another newbie. The stage was set, but the real drama was yet to unfold. While debates flared around Nekhen and its “leveling guide”, Wonky is Good (N: Imperial Conquest) took action. On the 17th of Choiak at 5:50, he released Heroe de Leyenda (formally Jefe) from the underworld. At 5:52 the disciple who made Txatxu a household name committed Ennui. Needless to say, Wonky was quickly neutralized for his efforts and remains in the Underworld.

Meanwhile, back at the batty cave, Reign converted to the newly discovered path of Apophis which removed him from Nekhen. Tragically, he forgot to choose a new Nomarch before going. The title fell into the lap of Sekhem (Nekhen), who just happened to be the next member of the dominion to sign in. Sekhem, a newbie who may not have even noticed the transition, signed out not long after. Not long after, things got bad. The entire system went down for several minutes and when it returned there was a new System Alert message by the Oracle of Thebes. The message was essentially to announce that the Oracles were no longer going to pull any punches with TOS violators.

The message wasn’t the only thing that was different when the system came back. Reign and Nefertiri had both been totally reset by the Oracles. When questioned in the underworld, Nefertiri confessed to cheating and pleaded to be desecrated when she was promptly slain by Euplicitous Aerophram (N: Riven). Reign, on the other hand, maintained his innocence despite the mounting evidence against him. He too was slain and negged by Euplicitous. But wait! There’s more! Moments later, Bottom-Heavy Grapefruit (eidolon) would cast the unforgivable curse, known as Desecrate, on Nefertiri. When he too was slain and negged by Aerophram, Malarthi (eidolon) unsuccessfully attempted to Condemn Riven’s nomarch. Malarthi was swiftly dispatched by Mikolaj (Riven) for his troubles. Escalation and open warfare seemed sure to follow. But it didn’t. Instead of further retaliation, Aerophram restored Malarthi and the pair seemed to reach a mutual understanding.

With an unstable calm seemingly in place, Reign, Grapefruit, and Wonky all remain under wraps as debates about their fate unfold around them. Yes, gentle reader, the period between 17th to the 18th of Choiak can best be summed up with this equation. Feces + Velocity + Fan. Who knows what’ll happen next!
