Season's Beatings!

By: the eye
At 03:10 on Pachons 5, Mikolaj (Riven) invoked the Burning Season for the third time in six days. At 03:11, Vanir (Macrocosm) slew the Blood Merchant, setting into motion an unpredictable and brutal chain of events. Enraged, the notoriously aggressive Riven responded immediately, sundering, negging, and stripping Vanir of some seven million favour. Risking retribution, Old Dog (eidolon) and Arthur (Shadows) came to Vanir’s aid in the form of Cureall and massive Tutors. Thus began a series of debates and arguments over the proprietary rights of a season’s invoker and the handling of community resources. This would culminate in an announcement by Mikolaj that anyone disciple, other than the invoker, who slays the Blood Merchant before 23 hours and 45 minutes have passed will be attacked. The sentiment was something of a compromise and seems to have sufficient support to stick. The end? Not a chance!

Prompted by the discussions of rules and enforcement, Krysondra (N: Kitsune) created a thread dedicated to investigating the philosophies and principles of “Ankhet Law”. This prompted considerable, and occasionally heated, discussion that came to a head when Santa Claus implied that the newcomer Andreus was in fact the reincarnation of Giorgioh. Euplicitous Aerophram (N: Riven) then declared Santa to be Reign reincarnated, a position he supported claiming that Santa uses Reign’s question list and that he was also the player of Aris, an account which was deleted for being a zombie. Santa would tellingly answer, “Since you are currently unable to prove anything I will have to deny everything”. Claus would go on to further waffle on the subject, prompting Aerophram to Ruin and Sunder him. And this, kids, is where things get really weird.

Apparently posting to the wrong “Claus”, Aerophram asked Mrs. Claus (Kitsune) if she was still denying being Aris and using the aforementioned question list. Aerophram attempted to hide his error, but not before Mrs. Claus both saw and replied with a popular, multipurpose obscenity. Provoked by the “vulgarity”, Aerophram responded as might be expected. Instead of explaining his mistake and apologizing, he sundered her. Arthur converted to Amin-Ra via Metasis Charm, and absolved Mrs. Claus, but this earned him a similar fate. Infuriated, a seemingly befuddled Mrs. Claus would unleash an entire vernacular of obscenities across several messages and threads. This earned her public scorn and provoked yet another massive attack from a Riven, as Aerophram stripped Mrs. Claus of all of her favour and anima. Krysondra would attempt to rescue her beleaguered companion, but would only find herself also Ruined and sundered for her troubles.

The physical resistance quelled, questions began to surface regarding Aerophram’s evidence against Santa Claus. While Aerophram either failed or simply refused to provide evidence regarding the question list, he addressed the Aris issue in a controversial way. Infamous for his refusal to interact outside of Ankhet, Aerophram nonetheless added a damning quote from the IRC chat, in which Santa admits to being Aris, to his signature. This raised questions ranging from the ethics of using such material to the authenticity of the quote. While this reporter isn’t privy to the existence of any evidence about the list, TAG has acquired a copy of the chat log in question and can verify the quote. What that proves, if anything, is for you, gentle reader, to decide. Santa Claus would again refuse to answer the allegations saying, “Being that you attacked me instead of continuing to have a discussion with me in the other thread, I will no longer be entertaining your questions.”. Predictably, Euplicitous responded in the overwhelming fashion that has become the hallmark of the Riven, reducing Santa to level 1 with negative anima.

In hopefully unrelated news, Condeming yourself is really bad for your favour.
