How Silencing a Post Makes Disciples Scream:

Silence VS Ankhet, Docket 104267

By: ~dove~

Some disciples find the use of silence light while others find it overly harsh. Yet on 11 Payni 2756, Malarthi silenced a large number of posts in the thread in the Underworld's "Mikolaj" (Shadows) thread that began on 7 Payni 2756; as these threads considered his status as an "idiot." Multiple disciples chimed in, but Arthur (Shadows; Ennuied) was at their head explaining repeatedly why he made the claim that Malarthi was, in fact, an idiot. In the end, Malarthi gave up the argument and silenced many posts made in the thread.

Unwilling to let this go, three members of Shadows led a public outcry: Menefer Ammon un-Silenced all the posts but Malarthi's own, Silhouette Doomed Malarthi (The Black Pearl) to death and took 1000 Favor, and Arthur chose to Exorcise Malarthi. From the furthered crying out of the public, Exorcise must be painful! The community began to debate what merited Silence, what merited attacks in general, and what in the world might merit Exorcise. Throughout this sticky debate process, several disciples, including Menefer Ammon (Shadows) and Ozymoron (Kitsune), continued to harass Malarthi (The Black Pearl) about his intelligence; which led Boner (The Black Pearl) to begin his own campaign of Silencing their posts. From this moment, the whole scenario devolved into a series of threads where disciples accused each other of oppression and cruelty, lack of character and inability to argue a point. Disciples re-anointed, and while some originally committed ennui, others were brutally attacked for their name choices and only barely managed to leave the Underworld of Ankhet for some greater Underworld than this.

In the end, it would seem that Silence is considered an attack that disciples are willing to die or kill for. Though they continually jab and parry with each other, disciples do not want their words deleted and will only allow it in extreme cases. So, think about this the next time that Silence becomes an option:

Quoting: Heralds: 15 Payni 2756

22:33 - Boner is Right has succumbed to ennui.
22:31 - Arthur is Anointed Boner is Right.

Ankhet's Top Disciple

By: Verity

On the Fourth of Payni, 2756 a new challenge was thrown down in the fora of Ankhet. On behalf of the Light dominion, Nefertiti put out a call to all disciples. They were in search of Ankhet's Top Disciple.

With Euplicitous Aerophram still missing and the Riven Dominion no longer active, perhaps Nefertiti is using this contest as her own variation of "The Grinder" as she strives to turn her dominion into our next set of "Not-So-Benevolent Overlords"? Taking into account her recent escalation from words to violence as well as her decision that she needs not explain herself, this reporter is eager to see how such plans progress!

To lure disciples into joining the competition, Light has promised the winner a "Light Puzzle Box" at the contests end. Who knows what this may or may not contain, but plenty have joined in the quest to find out. Ankhet's Top Disciple's round-up of players continued with a constant trickle and soon, all were clad in their Speedo's. Despite a few eye gougings and brain bleachings to remove some of the resulting imagery, the contest began on schedule with the following participants (in alphabetical order):

Ana Maria
Baltar
Bottom-Heavy Grapefruit (now Insidious Grapefruit)
Captain Jack Sparrow
Dark Eternal
Dijital
em
Iboni
Kry
sondra
Malarthi
Menefer Ammon
nonsequitor
pakhet
RandomEmoticon
Rorschach (now Ozymoron)
SniguKaTet
Tia Dalma
Will

For the first contest, participants were required to introduce themselves to the panel of judges. Introductions consisted of both a written intro as well as a photograph. At the end of the week, contestants were judged and the panel removed three contestants from the running: Malarthi, nonsequitor, and Tia Dalma. These three disciples failed to submit an introduction, making it easy on the judges to decide. The surprise from round one lay not in the disciples selected, but in the quantity. Nefertiti claims that she and the Light dominion had decided in advance that three would be removed from the running, but never was this announcement made ahead of time. I suppose it's anyone's guess as to how many will meet the chopping block this week!

Our remaining 15 contestants are currently designing an item in memory of Light's departed founder, ChipDoc. One can only speculate what he would have to say about such going ons in his memory. Chip is remembered by most as a humble disciple who never was one to seek the spotlight. It seems some, though, will shove him there anyway if it means they can try to borrow just a bit of his glory for their own.

Don't forget to tune in to the Neophytes forum next week to see the newest contest results as we all wait together to find out who will be declared Ankhet's Top Disciple!

The Total Tattler

she hears all and tells more.

the riven: where are they NOW?
so, like the whole world knows that ea {overlord dudes} totally split like an over-cooked lotus bud after he leveled a lot of disciples (like all the shadows or something) down a few dozen levels and mikolaj {now shadows} returned the favor with love, but where have the other overlords and lordettes been hiding now? and when are they gonna come back and totally take it all back?

well, em and anuput/ana maria are hiding on the black pearl, playing like pirates of the nile or something. captain jack {pearl – N} has brought them on deck, but who is really running that ship? i heard that the riven-be-mates are giving tons of orders. oh, and catch this mikolaj {yep, dude who took out ea} and mullhotep have gone back to the shadows. when ea comes back will they totally turn on him and spill the beans about shadows secrets? finally, ozymoron (back to a name that fits) has run to his ex-something in kitsune. i'd say it was cuz no one else would take a riven, but that's so not true. so, it's love, lust, or ea's plot to take over ankhet – again. so, there's what used to be the riven, but how long are they going to be used to be's?

that gio guy
so, everyone who's anyone knows that he-who-must-be-doomed to death a lot has come back. the biggest question is like who could he be? can't doom without something since ea left. right now, everybody thinks it's that anubulas guy in kitsune. what is it with krysondra and traitors??? that girl has no sense of style or safety.

renob, say who?
i think renob should be in the last column too, but no one else says so. (it'll come out in the adjure though.) some say it's ea trying to get back in place to summon his peeps. others say it is arthur who totally oded on the keres essence just a little while ago, but they can't say why. i mean, i would never give up everything just to come back as a newb. either way, he levels like a mother-fer and trades like stupid gone wild. (totally gio. i just know it.)

i'd say more, but that idiot won't give me more space. how afflicted is that???? really.
